Crossover Time (Monument) emerges from Jumaldi Alfi's (b. 1973) contemplation of the past and aspirations for the future. He believes human survival relies on cherishing memories and nurturing hope. At the same time, he also realises that amidst life's chaos and calmness, human absurdity will always prevail.

“The sound for Jumaldi Alfi, its title and feeling are derived from our conversation about this project. He showed me his garden of trees where he says he is “not just planting trees, but art”, he is planting relationships. The sound for Jumaldi Alfi is an assemblage of recordings made while I was planting a garden in a similar spirit. Though my garden and his trees are on opposite sides of the world, we meet in that place of myth and meaning”.
