Overview

Humans are never entirely free from external influences. Each person absorbs a constellation of experiences that gradually shapes their identity. Identity is formed in the spaces between the self and society, in how one understands oneself and how one is understood by others.

The works of Siti F., Khayla Indiva, and Hilda Alhaque move within this tension. Deeply personal and intimate, yet subtly resonant within the social sphere, their practices embody this delicate interplay. They work within the climate of fourth-wave feminism, where popular and neoliberal feminist ideas circulate widely yet often miss deeper structural issues. Their works do not reject these ideas directly. Instead, they attempt to show where such discourse falls short and open a space for reflecting on systems that still shape women’s lives through discrimination and individualistic values.
