AASEA, in collaboration with Asia Art Center, presents an exceptional selection of works by three important Indonesian painters – Handrio (1926-2010), Fadjar Sidik (1930-2004) and Umi Dachlan (1941-2009), who played pioneering roles in the development of Indonesian abstraction.
The three Indonesian post-war artists will be juxtaposed alongside Mono-Ha masters such as Nobuo Sekine (1942-2019), Noriyuki Haraguchi (b.1946) and Susumu Koshimizu (b.1946) and Chinese abstract expressionist Yang Chihung (b. 1947) to offer a perspective into the spectrum of abstract styles present in the avant-garde post-war art scenes in Asia.
